REFERRER

Why should I become a referrer?

hoojano understands that as someone who’s spent some time in business, you’ve met people along the way who’ve stood-out as being skilled in their area. Whether they’re colleagues or friends, your first-hand knowledge of their skills and personality is highly valuable to people looking to hire.

Being a hoojano referrer provides a way for you to realise that value in cash, and get your friends and colleagues great jobs.

Here’s the deal: if someone you recommend for a hoojano-posted job gets it, then you get paid. So the stronger your network of people, the more you can earn. Neat huh?

How do I get started, as a referrer?

It’s easy. After you’ve registered, download your contacts into Your Workstation and enter as much info as you know about your friends and colleagues skills and career aspirations.

hoojano will then automatically show you the jobs that match your contacts. (Just remember that the more detailed and accurate the info you put in, the better the results you’ll get).

Once you’ve got some matches, you can see if your contacts are interested, put them forward to hirer and, if they get the job, you get the cash.

We can even notify you of new opportunities via email.

What are the fees associated with using hoojano as a referrer?

There is no fee to become a referrer.

What happens when I send a job to someone in my network?

At this point, your contact has the option to either decline or apply for the job. If they decline, you’ll be notified via email. If they apply, you’ll receive a link to their application. It’s a good idea for you to proof-read the documents before sending them to the Hirer (via hoojano), as the standard of the application (grammar, relevant skills, etc) will impact on your perceived quality as a referrer and will ultimately impact on the likelihood of success for both you and the candidate.

Does hoojano manage the hiring process?

Once the opportunity has been posted and you’ve had a chance to refer or not, hoojano then provides the Hirer with a list of candidates to consider. From there the Hirer makes their shortlist and moves through the interview process. The timing of this process is determined by the Hirer and not managed by hoojano. But what we can do is to help you track your candidate’s progress on Your Workstation. If you hear directly from your candidate that they’ve been successful, then you can advise the system and allow hoojano to pay your reward.

How does hoojano make money?

hoojano takes a 20% commission on any rewards paid to successful candidates placed via the system.

HIRER

Why should I use hoojano to recruit my team?

The hoojano community boasts a network of member-referrers, each of whom has many contacts in the Australian business community. When they see opportunities that suit the people they know, they act as your agent, notifying those people and encouraging them to investigate and apply if suitable. Using the “6 Degrees of Separation” principle, your ad could be seen by thousands of targeted candidates. As a result, you get a list of highly matched candidates to consider for selection, choosing as you wish from the list those you want to interview and ultimately employ. The site can work in conjunction with other advertising efforts or as your sole recruitment solution.

How do I use hoojano?

Simply go to the Hirer section via the link on the home page to start the process of outlining your job vacancy. You’ll be asked to register as a user and then be guided through the details that you’ll need to supply in your listing. Once that’s done, the job will go live immediately. At that point, the details will be made known to referrers who have advised us they know the kind of people you’re looking for. Each job you post is also made available to all who search the site.

What are the fees associated with using hoojano?

You will pay a reward to the referrer of a successful candidate. You can nominate the amount up-front in your ad or leave it open for negotiation. Referrers will then submit their potential candidates and the fee that they would accept should you choose to employ their recommended candidate. This makes hiring via hoojano significantly cheaper than using a traditional recruiter. You nominate the fee you’re happy to pay.

What if I don’t specify a reward for my opportunity?

The reward is a great way for you to stand out from other jobs posted on hoojano. In all likelihood you’ll get a range of referrals (easily sorted by reward amount) from which you can choose those that meet your price limits.

Why would a hoojano candidate be any better than one I get from the newspaper or any other source?

hoojano candidates come personally recommended by referrers who know them and their skills well enough to confidently recommend them to the right job. Often our referrers have worked with the people they put-forward, and this first-hand insight in to candidates allows referrers to use the details you provided to find best-fit people for the position.

How will I hear of the referrals?

As soon as referrals are received, you will be advised by email and Your Workstation (where you manage your job vacancies) will contain all the details for you to sort and manage. All referrals will come through in real-time until the close-date you specify in your listing.

Does hoojano manage the hiring process?

hoojano gives you a strong list of best-fit candidates and you take it from there. How many candidates and how often you choose to interview prior to making a decision is entirely your choice. All we ask is that once you have made a decision, you return to the site and let us know via Your Workstation. If the successful candidate was sourced from hoojano, your notification will allow us to process the agreed fee to the relevant referrer.

How does hoojano make money?

hoojano takes a 20% commission on any rewards paid to successful candidates placed via the system.

How good are the referrers?

hoojano referrers are industry professionals who have built valuable networks of talented friends and colleagues. They know their people personally, and often professionally, which places them in a good position to judge a candidate’s suitability for a given position.

But because hoojano encourages and rewards those with the highest calibre networks, our referrers are only as good as their contacts. If the people they know aren’t up to scratch then the referrer doesn’t benefit. So the system encourages and rewards those referrers who put-forward the strongest candidates, while weeding-out those who might propose sub-standard candidates. So, in short, the cream rises, and what results is a community of well-connected, trusted and tried referrers.

CANDIDATE

Can I apply for an opportunity directly?

No, all potential candidates must be referred by a registered hoojano referrer. If you see a job you like, you can find a referrer you know on hoojano to put you forward, or invite someone from outside hoojano to join and refer you.

What sort of jobs are listed on hoojano?

hoojano lists quality jobs from various sectors. There are no set rules, but rest assured, if it’s got “fun, fun, fun” in the title you won’t find here.

How do I apply for a role?

If a referrer has sent you the details of a job, then simply follow the links to check it out. If it seems like your kind of thing, take a few minutes to set up an account and from there you’ll be guided through the simple process of applying.

If you come upon a job yourself, then you’ll need to register with hoojano and go about finding someone to refer you.
